Ban on Recovery of Commercial Rents Extended

The Government has extended to 31 March 2021 the temporary ban on the use of forfeiture for non-payment of rent, Commercial Rent Arrears Recovery (CRAR) and the issue of statutory demands and winding up petitions where a company’s inability to pay is due to COVID-19.

In June, the Government issued a Code of Practice for landlords & tenants in dealing with rental income shocks affecting commercial property caused by the COVID-19 pandemic; the Code can be downloaded using the following link:
