A Selection of Completed Transactions
- Appointed by Defence Estates (for MOD), in conjunction with Entec UK Ltd, in the freehold sale of two town centre sites at Catterick Garrison, the first of 13 acres sold to S Harrison Developments for a major retail scheme (Richmondshire Walk) anchored by a successful Tesco superstore, and a second of 1.5 acres sold to Aldi for a new discount foodstore. In addition, a third disposal involved the sale to Shepherd Homes of 15 acres of residential development land at Arras Lines, Catterick Garrison.
- Acquisition of a new freehold office building at Alpha Business Park, Monks Cross, York on behalf of Scarborough Property Group. The property, extending to 6,000 ft², was let to group company Forsyth Business Centres plc as its head office.
- On behalf of The University of York, the freehold sale of the former St John’s Church, Micklegate, York. Purchased by Rushbond plc who undertook a comprehensive scheme of structural stabilisation and refurbishment, the building was then sold on to a private purchaser as a bar/restaurant opportunity. Howard Jenkins was retained in both transactions.
- Advising Wray Castle Limited in the relocation from Wray Castle, a Victorian Listed Building overlooking Lake Windermere owned by the National Trust, and the acquisition of modern leasehold offices in Kendal, Cumbria.
- Marketing shop units and negotiating lease terms of offices within Market Square, Heslington, a new £3 million retail & office development, on behalf of The University of York.
- Advising Royal London Asset Management in the £3.95 million purchase of 8-10 Parliament Street, York, a prime retail investment let to Vision Express; and jointly acting in the sale of a mixed retail & office investment at 49-51 Stonegate & 39-41 Low Petergate, York.
- Advising Green Property plc, in the sale of a 2-acre residential development site off Foss Islands Road, York being just outside the City Walls; the purchaser was CALA Homes who developed the site for 93 apartments.
- Letting on behalf of Glentrool Estates newly developed industrial premises at Centurion Way, Clifton Moor, York; the tenants are Initial City Link and Ipsaris Limited.
- Arranging on behalf of The Carlisle Group of Companies a sale and lease-back of an office building in Handforth, Cheshire occupied by one of their group companies in the North West.
- Acquisition of former industrial premises in Seamer Road, Scarborough for a trade-counter development, on behalf of Henry Lax Limited.
