Chris Jenkins has completed the College of Estate Management (CEM) Post-Graduate Diploma in Arbitration, being awarded the President’s Prize, and is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). He has also completed the RICS/CEM Certificate in Rent Review Arbitration, and provides teaching input on Arbitration matters as an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.
As a member of the panel from which the President of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) appoints Arbitrators to resolve commercial property rent reviews, Chris Jenkins is regularly appointed to act as Arbitrator on retail, office and industrial & warehouse properties across the region.
The authority of an Arbitrator derives from a personal appointment, rather than that of a firm or company, and Arbitrators are often appointed by ‘appointing bodies’ such as the RICS or CIArb on behalf of the parties to a dispute.
Alternatively, the parties may by agreement choose to make such appointment themselves by approaching a suitably qualified and experienced Arbitrator direct.
